Resumen
The trees of Bogotá are subjected to stress conditions that can increase their susceptibility to attack by harmful biotic agents and consequently affect their environmental services. Intrinsic factors (origin of the species, nutritional quality, age, phenology, interactions between native and exotic plants and native and exotic insects, among others), as well as extrinsic factors (environmental conditions: temperature, light, pollution, wind), may modify the dynamics of pest insect populations in urban environments. The species false pepper (Schinus areira L.), long time ago introduced in the city, is affected by at least five species of phytophagous insects belonging to the order Hemiptera and therefore, it is essential to know both biological as well as ecological aspects that favor attacks in order to help optimize strategies for the integrated management of these populations. This document analyzes some biological aspects and the prevalence of harmful insects in the false pepper in some localities of Bogotá, taking into account aspects of the origin of the pest, the phenology of the host, type of location, contamination, and development of the trees, among other factors. In the same way, some included
