This research was carried out taking into account Environmental Education (EE) activities and strategies from Secretaría Distrital de Ambiente (SDA), Empresa de Acueducto Agua Aseo y Alcantarillado de Bogotá (EAB-ESP) and Colegio Ramón B. Jimeno (CRBJ). Mainly, the study focused on the incidence from EE on cultural practices change, care and preservation of water resource in Bogotá. Perceptions from environment educators, students and the community related to EE activities and strategies used in formal and non-formal practices. The main objective was to describe their attitudes and behaviors, as well as, the incidence on the practices and activities change when participating into these actions. Also, some factors which have impeded activities and strategies used by these entities that have generated a change in the community regarding water resource care, were analyzed. The main objective was to set a proposal towards the amalgamation of formal and non- formal EE as strategy that contributes to betterment and protection of the natural resource. This study is based on the Política Pública Distrital de Educación Ambiental, the EAB_ESP Environmental Education program (PROEDU), (PRAE) from CRBJ and some theories about EE, as a change generating a strategy and a way to sustainable development. Methodologically, this analysis was grounded on qualitative research Non- probabilistic study and sample case type. For the data collection twenty-two subjects were selected to apply a semi structured interview. This analysis allowed the understanding of factors which have hampered to engender positives changes not only related to water resource but also to environment in general. Besides this, it permitted to acknowledge about community participation in these activities, current difficulty dealing with water resources and how EE activities and strategies should be carried out to really influence environment and population favorably.
