Resumen
Bogotá being one of the largest cities in the country, it is made up of urban and rural areas, which need constant maintenance on their road network to ensure efficient connection and continuous development. Because the roads in the rural sector are not as likely to transit freight vehicles, the following alternative can be explored, which consists of the use of recycled pavement as a road construction material, a material known since 1915 but with a notable boost since the crisis. of oil in the 70s. This proposal not only reduces pollution, but is also economical and provides quality and safety on the roads. A study in China on the life cycle of recycled pavement showed that, although its useful life is shorter than that of conventional pavement, its cost and low environmental impact make it ideal for certain low-traffic locations. In Bogotá, 18% of unpaved rural roads are in poor condition, and the deterioration is due in part to the lack of preventive maintenance, excessive traffic, and problems in materials and designs; This alternative is feasible to address the aforementioned problem.
