Resumen
This document records an analysis made to the AASHTO 1993 Method, implemented in Colombia for the dimensioning of flexible pavements, this in order to evaluate the uncertainty of each one of the variables that come into play in the design of these road structures; especially the temperature, since Colombia is a country that has a great variety of climates, which makes designers change their criteria when designing depending on the place that is the object of each project. In addition, antecedents of some studies related to the method and flexible pavements are presented, which gave rise to the present study. On the other hand, simulations carried out to determine how much the thickness of the asphalt layer varies by altering each of the variables chosen by the designers are also presented. In addition, an analysis of the results obtained is presented where a small economic analysis is taken into account to see in broad strokes the costs of oversizing the structures. Finally, the respective conclusions of the study are presented, as well as the bibliography used and the respective annexes, product of the simulations that were the basis for the analysis of the final results. In addition, attached with the annexes, a schedule developed using Microsoft Excel software, developed by the director of the work and by the authors.
