Propuesta de análisis formal, interpretativo y creación de ejercicios prácticos para interpretar la Sonata Romántica Manuel María Ponce

Abstract

The primary purpose of this work is to serve as a guide for those interested in interpreting the Romantic Sonata by Manuel María Ponce, offering a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the piece, as well as suggestions for technical and interpretative exercises. In the first section, a contextualization of the life and work of the composer Manuel María Ponce is provided, with a particular focus on the Romantic Sonata, to allow a better understanding of his work. The second section is dedicated to a macro-formal analysis of the Romantic Sonata, breaking down motivic, harmonic, and melodic elements that can facilitate and enrich the interpretation of the piece. Additionally, an interpretative evaluation of the Romantic Sonata is carried out, based on versions performed by renowned guitarists such as Alirio Díaz, Marcy Dylla, and Sanel Redžić. Lastly, in the third section, a series of technical and interpretative exercises are proposed, designed to address the most challenging passages of the piece and facilitate the application of timbral changes in its assembly.
