Resumen
Introduction: This article is the result of the research carried out within the frame-work of the project "Observatory for labor insertion and strengthening of employabil-ity in countries of the Pacific Alliance (Emple-AP)", led by the University of Antioquia and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since 2017, from which the Re-gional Labor Observatory (OLR) emerges. Problem: Monitoring and analyzing em-ployability in the region requires a model tailored to the local environment's specific needs, enabling a reliable indicator for study. Problem: Monitoring and analyzing employability in the region requires a model tailored to the local environment's spe-cific needs, enabling a reliable indicator for study. Objective: This research aims to formulate a preliminary model for monitoring, measuring, and analyzing employability, addressing the needs of OLR - Universidad Distrital. Methodology: A bibliographic review of background is conducted to establish a def-inition of employability, the weighting of key variables, the construction of relation-ships between variables, and subsequently, the employability indicator is verified with labor market data. Results: The proposed model was able to describe the employability behavior of graduates in a manner close to reality. Conclusion: It is necessary to adjust the information collection approach of the Em-ple-AP project to adapt it to global trends prioritizing digital skills and continuous training. Originality: This research proposes the preliminary transformation and weighting of key variables for measuring employability, based on data from OLR. Limitations: The results obtained are limited by the scope of the information col-lected by the Emple-AP project, and although these were verified by comparison, they have not been validated.
