Resumen
This project aims to design and implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) proposal at Prodimel Ingeniería SAS, a company in the metalworking sector, with the objective of improving operational efficiency, standardizing processes, and strengthening a culture of continuous improvement. The development of the work was structured in two stages: initial diagnosis and implementation of the TPM program. In the first stage, significant weaknesses in maintenance management were identified, such as the lack of planning, poor documentation traceability, and the predominant use of corrective maintenance, which negatively affects equipment availability and overall productivity. Based on the findings, a proposal was formulated using the fundamental pillars of TPM: autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, focused improvement, quality maintenance, and education and training. Tools such as technical data sheets, equipment life records, 5S audit formats, preventive maintenance planning, OEE indicator monitoring, and training methodologies such as One-Point Lessons (OPL) were designed and implemented. The process also included practical activities such as order and cleanliness campaigns, design of standardized routines, area demarcation, and visual management. The results show an improvement in the organization of the production area, greater traceability in maintenance activities and a reduction in recurring failures. In addition, baseline indicators were established to monitor process performance and support informed decision-making. In conclusion, the implementation of TPM represents a strategic advancement for the company by consolidating a comprehensive maintenance system that promotes efficiency, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness.
