Resumen
This research seeks to identify how media competence is related of the students of social communication and journalism of the francisco district university José de Caldas with the media content they produce. This research is theoretically supported by concepts such as media convergence (Jenkins, 2006) understood as a process that today's society is assisting with the proliferation and convergence of the different media, media competence (Aguaded, Pérez, 2012) that is understood such as the ability to act actively, critically and responsibly in front of the different content circulating through the media, present on multiple screens with which the individual lives in her daily life. Therefore the Instagram network will be queried whose logic is to make communication a faster environment thanks to the fact that the images that have surpassed the text, creating a visual explosion that forces this research to better understand digital visual culture and how it is has tried to understand how the image from ancient times to our times has configured our thought and way of understanding the world (Mirzoeff, Sánchez). For this research, will use the mixed methodology in a university context, in this case in students of social communication and journalism of the Francisco José de Caldas University. The instruments used in this research will be the online survey and the semi-structured interview.
