Resumen
The image contains a news story about a cover letter to get a new job at the newspaper, from Juan Clamute, who was raised by a woman named Casilda, who gave him her first name. He doesn't know his last name but he doesn't care, since his friends call him by his nickname and he is happy with that. He considers himself a "Chinese by profession" and a "duller" by birth, since Casilda was a shoemaker. He doesn't know his exact age, but he feels that he has lived long enough and has a lot of experience. Juan expresses his tiredness from his job of shining boots and his desire to write articles for newspapers, taking advantage of his extensive experience in life. He has tried to change careers, including applying for contracts for public jobs and considering joining the military, but has not been successful. Finally, he leaves his name at the disposal of the reader and the editor of the newspaper. News published in El Correo Nacional N° 1111, July 27 - 1894
