Cuantificación y evaluación de la huella de carbono de la empresa Perenco Colombia Limited

Abstract

This report presents the calculation of the carbon footprint of the company Perenco Colombia Limited for the Casanare district, in the period from 2019 to 2022. Taking 2019 as the base year, and supported by the NTC ISO 14064-1 methodologies of 2019 and GHG Protocol. Defining a total of 194,667 Ton Co2eq as carbon footprint for the base year. Likewise, it provides as a critical area the generation of energy from gas, with a representation of 77% of the total GHG generation, and the Sardinas and Trinidad stations with the main contribution to the carbon footprint with 32.6 % and 16%, for a total of 48.6%. On the other hand, a comparison is made of the carbon footprint produced per barrel of crude extracted in each of the years; examples of GHG reduction due to switching fuels for power generation are presented; and finally, the best alternatives are proposed to achieve compensation for the company's carbon footprint and achieve carbon neutrality.
