Resumen
Rapid prototyping or also called layered manufacturing is a set of processes that gives the consumer a final product. Rapid Prototyping is a set of operations that lead to the delivery of a final product designed by digital information in short times without the removal of material. This technique has advantages over other manufacturing processes in terms of time and economy, in addition to the ability to manufacture products with complex geometries, for this reason it is necessary to measure the performance of the different Rapid Prototyping machines. In the laboratories of the technological faculty of the Francisco José de Caldas District University there is a Stratasys Dimension 1200 machine, a prototyping machine, for research purposes, the pieces manufactured here are expected to be more accurate in the face of a removal process of material, in addition to being able to obtain products with complex geometries in a simpler and faster way. The only fact about the machine about accuracy is the thickness of the layers that is 0.254 mm thick. This research shows experimental evidence on indices of process capacity based on DIN 16742, this standard provides a margin of tolerance for plastic parts based on material characteristics and is used either for quality standards or for capacity studies. process.
