Resumen
A morphometric study indicates the physical characteristics of a watershed, allowing analyze them as numerical values, which facilitates an analysis of the behavior and influence of a basin in a hydraulic network. So here the relevant calculations and analyzes are presented to determine the physical characteristics of the Piedra Gorda basin, which is located in the department of Cauca.
To determine the characteristics are necessary methods and mathematical calculations for recognizing aspects such as area, perimeter, maximum length, average width, shape, compactness and slope coefficient, among others.
The results broadly blind Stone broken in their area, it is classified as a unit, ie, a small segment of the network to which it belongs (Alto Cauca), but is relevant to consideration by the great water wealth of the department. The form of this stream tends to be circular and flattened, indicating that tends to concentrate large volumes of water runoff and flooding is likely to present. Its slope is quite steep so you have a high rate of flow.
In consideration of aspects as mentioned above, it is important to study each element is a hydraulic system, not only for influence in it, but because every element is immersed in an environment that conditions and directly affect so You can also set conditions such as these, and if you can positively or negatively affect the environment.
