Resumen
In this degree work the fault diagnosis of a three-phase induction motor is achieved, specifically the short circuit in the stator windings and the breakage of a rotor bar faults. The diagnosis is made through the motor current signature analysis using the Hybrid Hilbert-Huang transform as the signal-processing algorithm, which integrates the discrete wavelets transform (DWT). This method avoids the shortcomings of the normal Hilbert-Huang transform, which involve the undesirable low-frequency IMFs that the EMD generates, the wide range of frequencies the the first IMF may cover and the low capability that the EMD has to separate signals that contain low-energy components; these shortcomings may cause inaccurate diagnosis and misinterpretation of the information.
