Resumen
This investigation work addresses the evaluation of the behavior of PM10 and PM2.5 pollutants during the period 2019-2020 in Bogota DC, as well as their condition within the air quality monitoring systems. Through an exhaustive analysis of the 18 stations of the Bogota Air Quality Monitoring Network, three methodological phases were carried out to meet the objectives set. It was evidenced that the confinement due to the pandemic in 2020 had a positive impact on pollutant concentrations, and the need for an integral air quality surveillance system in Colombia was pointed out, given the current insufficient distribution of monitoring stations. Additionally, the status of monitoring systems in Bogotá was compared with other Latin American cities, highlighting disparities in station distribution and the need to improve ambient monitoring infrastructure in the region.
