Abstract

Shelves, racks, or storage and storage tools are fundamental in the industry, since it has a very great importance in production, since they deliberate the space for the raw elements, in process or finished product, help in quality processes and improvements of times for dispatches, picking and packing among others. To make these structures, it is important understand the multiple pieces that compose them, and also verify the requirements necessary storage (space and weight), from here starts the fundamental idea of the project which is an efficient production of one of the most relevant elements for shelves, such as the beam. The project will focus specifically on the design of a machine that will facilitate the creation of a beam-type profile for heavy-duty racking according to the standard norm. This design process requires different knowledge acquired during the academic stage. and the experience through the work environment in which we find ourselves, here we see the need to manufacture and production of these profiles, a brief study of material characteristics and the complete approach to the machine model using software of Autodesk Inventor design, as well as an analysis of economics.
