Resumen
Objective: To design a pilot program to develop ambidexterity in a group of post-harvest workers in the company CI Sunshine Bouquet SAS in the floriculture sector as a measure to reduce the probability of upper limb osteomuscular injuries reducing the physical load of the dominant member, in the workers.Method: Through direct observation, qualitative and quantitative measurement of the performance of the upper limbs of a sample of 30 Bouquet workers, to obtain the necessary information for the design of the workshops, which were then executed in a pilot test in order to verify the relevance and impact on the function and performance of workers using their non-dominant hand. Results: After the statistical analysis of the pretest and posttest results, a fine motor skills gain was identified in 65% of the evaluated population, being specific for writing skills 65%; for turning cards 82%; Simulate Eating 50%; Stacking Chinese Checkers 62%; lifting light objects 50%; lifting Heavy objects 62%; and 91% dynamometry test, which determines the effectiveness of non-dominant unimanual training to improve the performance of their work tasks with the consequent decrease of perceived muscle fatigue. Conclusions: The development and implementation of an Ambidexterity program allows workers to be able to carry out their own tasks with less fatigue and equal quality, which translate into possible future gains both at work and in the workplace individual.
