Resumen
This document describes the Design and Implementation of Power Module for Experimental Picosatellite CubeSat UD Colombia 1, which is a project developed at the University Francisco José de Caldas through the Telemedicine Research Group (GITEM). The development of the power module is based on the requirements of the CubeSat standard, picosatellite mission, space environment, and the state and the updated information picosatellite other modules. The development of the power module is carried out in four phases: study, design, implementation and testing. In the study phase of the theoretical framework and preliminary designs Power Modules made in the University District and other type CubeSat satellites developed in the world is reviewed, also investigates existing technologies and components in the market and its affordability. The design phase involves analysis of the system and using a computer program designed to generate the necessary from a hardware circuit schematic. The implementation consists in making the printed circuit board (PCB) and the assembly of components. And the electric type tests are to certify the proper functioning of the Power Module. The aim of the project is to provide a module functional power, working under the conditions of the space environment in which the picosatellite fulfill its mission, and the function of the power module is to put up, transfer, and supply power to different picosatellite subsystems at all possible time, the remaining energy stored in an array of batteries for energy supply in conditions in which the solar panels are not sufficient to generate the necessary energy. power management is made from a micro-controller present in the Power Module.
