Bilingualism in Bogotá: a case study on english teachers’ beliefs about the bilingual program (2013-2014) in the framework of its implementation

Resumen
The purpose of this case study is to characterize English teachers’ beliefs, about the Bogota’s Bilingual program, to achieve this objective two different instruments were implemented: Interviews and questionnaires. Data brought to light, that for teachers, the teaching of English as foreign language is considered as a positive factor for students, because they will get benefits such as having more opportunities in their academic and professional life, including the chance of having an intercultural experience. In addition, they assert that the bilingual policy has some aspects that need to be overcome for a successful implementation, like the lack of resources and the teachers training both are the main concerns for them in regards of the bilingual policy implementation.
