Resumen
In the development of this study, the context of the situation of the management of waste generated in health care and other activities, the current regulations, some success cases, and the guides generated by the competent authorities were taken into consideration. Based on this, a methodology composed of four main stages was established: Characterization, Diagnosis, Design of the Proposal, and elaboration of the Manual. As a first step, we proceeded with the characterization of the organization where points referring to basic information, organization chart, description of activities and services, facilities, functions, and responsibilities of employees were established. Once this point was made, the diagnostic stage was carried out where it was possible to identify the veterinary clinic as a small generator of hazardous waste, this from the volume of waste generated and analyzed in eight months, in turn, many shortcomings were identified that generate a high percentage of regulatory non-compliance which reaches 84.62%. These results obtained in the two previous phases allowed the development of a proposal for the comprehensive management of waste generated in health care and other activities that will be adapted to the reality of the organization. Finally, the last stage of the methodology was carried out, applying everything used in the development of the proposal to make a brief and easy-tointerpret manual that aims to help micro and small generators in the development of PGIRASA.
