| dc.description.abstract | The image contains news about Law 93 of 1892, which establishes provisions for the regulation of the monetary system in Colombia. This law addresses several aspects related to the minting of coins, the issuance of banknotes and the reorganization of the National Bank. It also establishes the equivalence of National Bank notes with silver currency. The Government proceeds to settle accounts with the National Bank and allocates funds to back its own banknotes, as well as to purchase gold and silver. The law also establishes restrictions, such as the prohibition of certain financial operations and the obligation to exchange low-grade currency for paper money within an established period.
