Resumen
This research work focuses on Cartagena del Charía, Caquetá, one of municipalities that besides registering the death, abduction, disappearance and displacement of people, also leads the list of populations with the highest rate of deforestation in the country for more than 10 years. That place is part of the Colombian amazon and according to the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies, only in 2016 deforested 10,241 hectares of forest, becoming the third municipality with the highest rate of deforestation, while its department, Caquetá, in the first. This paper seeks to show the possible effects that the Peace Agreement between the Colombian Government and the Farc-EP could have on the rate of deforestation in Cartagena del Chairá, taking into account what has happened in other African countries that have gone through similar processes.
