Resumen
Knowing the importance of vocal-music practice in the development of integrated individuals, makes seeing the dimension and significance that music has in the construction of a being who thinks and lives in a globalized world. The Leonardo Da Vinci School in Bogota reports a formative process in which vocal-music has a relevant place evidenced in its institutional educative project PEI. This project is articulated in a coherent way in the different sections and it is effective by the appropriation of potentially meaningful knowledge in a vocal-music sense through massive choir practice done at school that is guided by specialized teachers based on the educative philosophy of the institution and politics of Educative Ministry. The philosophy as well as the politics emphasize an institutional characteristic to this practice where not only the Italian and Colombian culture are involved but also music and the educative community in general. The objective of this study is to characterize the choir activity of the school in the Italian and Colombian sociocultural contexts. With this purpose, the research question is How can we characterize the choir activity involving 3 components (vocal technique – repertoire – public generation) through the meaningful learning model? To answer this question, the analysis presented comes from the choir work observation that is done in the school where the vocal performances were taking into account based on 3 ways: the individual and collective vocal technique; the institutional repertoire and the public generation. For getting this, it was required the constructivist focus of the education where the cognitive perspective of the meaningful learning process was adopted for research effects. Analyzing the three aspects mentioned above and assuming the actual situation of the musical training since the singing and since the two cultures appropriation in the institution, characterizing the learning process that comes from the combination in “singing-cultures” works out well the integrated training of the institutional students, according to its mission and vision based on the Colombian education.
