Resumen
Insecurity is a daily concern for Colombians, particularly in the capital city where cases of crime, murder, and theft are more frequent. Whether due to lack of opportunities, inequality, poor public policies, or displacement, a sense of danger has arisen that negatively affects the quality of life of residents. This study focused on identifying the factors that significantly determine the perception of insecurity in Bogotá in 2021 at the level of Urban Planning Zones (UPZ). Results and spatial analysis show that, through spatial econometric models, insecurity was significantly explained by a spatial lag model (SLX), using variables such as the percentage of drug use, socioeconomic stratum, education level, and households and individuals victimized by violence.
