Resumen
Hericium erinaceus, known as the lion's mane mushroom, is an edible and medicinal fungus widely used in traditional Oriental medicine. Its distinctive appearance, with long white spines cascading downward, has made it a mushroom of both gastronomic and therapeutic interest. It is attributed with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anticancer, and immune-boosting properties, among others.
For its cultivation, it requires specific conditions such as a suitable substrate, humidity and temperature control, and a regulated environment. Although it is popular in Asian cuisine, its consumption in the West remains limited. This entrepreneurial project aimed to promote its consumption in Colombia by spreading awareness of its health benefits, providing practical recipes, and developing and selling home-growing kits, offering a natural option to improve health.
