Resumen
In the South American region, the diversity of electricity generation sources such as hydroelectric, solar, wind and biomass, reflected in the electrical matrix, lacks a defined composition, which makes future planning and the representation of renewable energies difficult. Establishing an updated matrix becomes crucial to address energy challenges and move towards efficient electrical systems. A project is proposed to determine the distribution of these sources and their potential in South American countries, through the investigation of information that includes geography, national projects, government investments and relevant factors. The results obtained offer a clear visual representation of the electrical matrix, contributing to the scientific community. Although the potential of renewable energies is significant, the implementation of efficient regulations from the beginning is essential to guarantee the stability and sustainable development of the electrical matrix in each country.
