Resumen
This thesis presents a documentary research inscribed in the field of statistical education that describes the panorama of statistical knowledge in relation to the use of statistical graphs in some mathematics books from the analysis of a sample of five books, which have designed for teaching in basic and secondary education published in the period between 1960-2010. The methodology considered a mixed approach to establish the state of the art on statistical representations by considering four phases to select the data collection base, systematize, reduce and organize the information by decades, and rigorously analyze the information according to the construction of statistical graphs. Among the elements to highlight in relation to the analysis are: the creation of the profession and career on statistics, the inclusion of the contents under study, and the contrast of the contents presented in the textbooks over the years. . Additionally, they are related to the statistical constructs of literacy, reasoning or development of statistical thinking, which are printed in the texts according to the trends of the authors of said texts together with the trends interpreted or observed over time, to the most used, to the common and necessary structural characteristics for the presentation of the construction of graphs or statistical diagrams.
