Resumen
The development of knowledge allows the professional to be continually in the innovation process. He can improve at the same time the new technologies and production systems and also manage the information without leaving out the knowledge base. Nowadays this is the necessary combination to achieve success in any field. The engineer is always focused in optimizing the tasks related to his role as a society thinker. It is therefore natural to take action aimed at innovating and improving the form of carrying out the processes in their environment. Starting from the necessity of optimizing the geoprocesses developed in the HMV Engineers Ltda. Company, it was started the internship having the objective of optimizing the way of accomplishing some geographic processes. Therefore it was developed a project to structure logic models based on the ModelBuilder tools for automating the geoprocesses and repetitive tasks. During the internship process, the lack of these working models in the company was made evident. The implemented methodology had a positive impact on the company and increased the performance of more than 200% in the times dedicated to some tasks previously done in an inefficient way. An example is the logic model of the basin calculation that stood out in the Water and Basic Sanitation where it fulfilled the formerly raised expectations. At the moment the developed models have been implemented in the various environment studies achieving excellent results in less execution time. The ModelBuilder tool remarkably optimized the men/ hours performance dedicated to the geoprocesses carried out mechanically. The correct use of the tools allows the professional to speed up his response time to the information request. One of the models proving what previously stated is the Environmental Zoning which extraordinarily performs automated processes in a time previously unthinkable by the professionals in charge of it, allowing them to make decisions efficiently for the project necessities and the proposed objectives.
