"Kirigami, La Magia de los Recortes"

Abstract

Mathematics is a science that for the common people, is conceived as a set of numerical terms which can be handled only in specific spaces and situations, but in the degree of mathematics of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, it is possible to recognize that these are a feasible tool to be used and found in different areas implicitly and without awareness of its existence. This situation can be evidenced in ethnomathematics, for example. For the development of this paper, the mathematization developed by Freudenthal will be taken into account, which will support the systematization process of the research carried out with the kirigami pop-up geometric. Working techniques will be recognized as mathematical objects that are not always present in a simple way and for this, images will be used in order to support the comprehension process. With this, it will be concluded that, in addition to what is visually recognizable, many of the developments and elements to be taken into account during its production are related to mathematics without the need to make use of symbolic expressions.
