Resumen
Given the growing concern for sustainability, the gaming industry has adopted measures to reduce its ecological footprint, this includes improvements in the energy efficiency of the consoles, therefore, this research offers an alternative vision of the video game industry from an environmental perspective, where the advances in energy efficiency achieved throughout the generations of game consoles are presented from the market launch of the seventh generation of these devices, which have incorporated advanced technology in their components and software, where the efforts made by the industry towards sustainability and the reduction of their environmental impacts are highlighted, likewise, possible alternatives to what is traditionally used such as Cloud Gaming are evaluated to finally, through simulated modeling in the Vensim program, how the practices and strategies adopted by the gaming industry can generate significant improvements to the environment from its energy efficiency, where the scientific and academic community plays a key role in the promotion and contribution of their knowledge towards a sustainable development that promotes the video game industry to be increasingly responsible with the environment.
