Estrategias pedagógicas para el reconocimiento territorial y la conservación ambiental del Humedal Jaboque (Bogotá - Colombia)

Abstract

Bogota wetlands are part of the Main Ecological Structure of the Capital District, are strategy ecosystems, which fulfil key functions such as water regulation and conservation of biodiversity. The Jaboque, being the second largest wetland of the city, is going through a critical environmental situation/condition, where the citizens who live around it, turn out to be the first affected and at the same time the greatest source of pollution for the ecosystem. Therefore, this project was framed within a purely qualitative participatory action research, that allowed the formulation, design and pilot implementation of six pedagogical strategies in community groups, based on a focal group called Proyecto Humedal Jaboque, which was part of activities such as social cartography, workshop and environmental tours, providing new knowledge and action plans for the recognition and the conservation of the territory, based on a social action network with integrated proposals against key issues. According to what was observed during the application of the strategies, it was recognized that the groups that maintain a continuous education process referring to territory concepts, are able to propose more real solutions for the current problems, while workshops or sporadic talks do not allow a transcendental learning in the person.
