Apoyo al seguimiento y monitoreo de las emergencias y desastres que se presentan a nivel nacional producto de eventos hidrometeorológicos

Abstract

The objective of this document is to present the activities and learning acquired throughout the internship carried out within the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, as a student of Technology in Environmental Sanitation. The development is part of the follow-up and monitoring from hydrometeorological events that occurred throughout the second rainy season in the different regions of the country, as well as support in workshops and meetings corresponding to climatology, technical commission and predictions. by IDEAM, which contributed significantly to the knowledge and theoretical application to the events that occurred due to climate variability throughout the internship, highlighting the month of December as the transition from a rainy period to a first dry season of the year, affecting the departments of Magdalena, Bolívar, Antioquia and Nariño due to disasters caused by phenomena such as El Niño. Given the above, the importance of the Disaster Risk Management group is concluded in terms of monitoring and preparing alerts against this type of weather-related events, which allows reducing risks due to hydrometeorological disasters.
