Resumen
The present document, carried out through research and innovation, aims to measure the carbon footprint of the Francisco José de Caldas District University Vivero Campus by collecting primary information and subsequently quantifying it, with the objective of assessing its impact on the environment and proposing corrective and mitigation strategies throughout the research area processes. As a result, it indicated that for the period (2022 - 2023), the Vivero Campus emitted 53,534417 metric tons of carbon dioxide distributed across 4 indicators, which are as follows: Energy profile with a generation of 51,301152 metric tons of CO2, encompassing the electrical influence of devices connected to the network requested by the provider, including classrooms, corridors, administrative areas, transportation, laboratories, and common areas. Transportation with a generation of 0,0031450285 metric tons of CO2 in relation to the travels made by members of the Vivero Campus, including pre-practice calculations and trips. Waste with a generation of 0,4775200863 metric tons of CO2 compiles primary information obtained from public service waste collectors, with data showing a reduction thanks to the treatment of potentially recyclable materials, along with paper consumption generating 1,7526 metric tons of CO2. In comparison to the baseline year of the study, it is concluded that there has been a direct emissions reduction of 37.3%.
