Resumen
This paper is the result of the design and implementation of pressure control systems with variable-speed drives for three-phase pumps in the context of the Control Engineering, given the technical requirements of a specific company as it is VARIADORES S.A, covering topics such as previous pressure control systems, energy consumption, PID controller, among others. It is also intended to search for a better control over the pressure systems that use three-phase motors (from 1 to 4 pumps), by integrating programming of logic controllers, programming of variables-speed drives and settings for PID controller as tools that will satisfy the needs to improve the control of the variable pressure, the energy saving adjustments in order to calculate a PAYBACK and the protection required by the system. This paper presents the theoretical concepts addressed on the research and the corresponding results. First, a comprehensive review of the State of the Art of the theme was done; then the tools and elements required for the implementation of a prototype system were evaluated; after this process, it took place the design of programming of logic controller and parameters in the drive for an appropriate control of the constant pressure system for 1 pump, 2 pumps, 3 pumps and 4 pumps successively, which finally leaded to the implementation of the prototype, test trials for the PID controller and the evaluation of the results and the performance in terms of pressure control, energy saving indicators and system protection.
