Resumen
The research examines the relationship between urban land-use planning and socio-environmental conflict in the Fucha River urban basin, located in Bogotá D.C. Using a qualitative and interpretive approach based on the methodology of the District Observatory of Environmental Conflicts (ODCA), the study analyzes how urban planning decisions, institutional dynamics, and social processes have directly influenced the emergence and intensification of socio-environmental conflicts within the basin.
The findings reveal differentiated issues along the river, including water pollution, occupation of buffer zones, unregulated urban expansion, and real estate pressure. The study identified that peaks of conflict coincide with inconsistencies in land-use planning instruments and the implementation of major infrastructure projects. Furthermore, it highlights a lack of institutional coordination and emphasizes the key role of local communities in defending the territory. The research concludes that it is essential to link urban planning with environmental management and to strengthen citizen participation in order to achieve a fairer and more sustainable management of the basin
