Presencia de polonio – 210 (210Po) en hojas de tabaco, tabaco, cigarrillo y fumadores y métodos de análisis: un estado del arte

Abstract

The information regarding the 210Po radioactive isotope, in different studies, is scattered, and in Colombia there is little information about it; therefore, an exploration of the state of the art was carried out, emphasizing the methods of analysis of radionuclide in different matrices and the relationship found with cases of lung cancer after the consumption of tobacco products. Within the studies, a general methodology was found for the analysis of this radionuclide in samples of tobacco leaves, cigarettes, tobacco, tobacco smoke and biological samples of smokers and non-smokers, and it was possible to identify that the presence of 210Po in The different tobacco products were related to cases of lung cancer. According to the above, it is considered that it is important to consider this type of study in Colombia.
