Cálculo de la huella de carbono en la sede la 40 de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas vigencia año 2022 a 2023

Abstract

To carry out this project, the established period of time was taken into account, this being the year 2022, in addition to the calculation of the carbon footprint as the main objective and its division between the different activities with intervention in the educational entity Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (UDFJC), Calle 40 headquarters, this general data being obtained from 3 types of scope, 1 corresponding to direct emissions generated by sources that are owned or in charge of the aforementioned headquarters, scope 2 corresponding to the generation and consumption of electricity, for which data on electricity consumption in the established period had to be requested, in addition to knowing the environment that occurs internally at the headquarters and identifying that prolonged use on many occasions that is This energy scope, we finally find scope 3, this corresponds to the emissions that occur due to the institution's activities but that occur in sources that are not owned or controlled by the institution (Greenhouse Gas Protocol, 2005 ). Obtaining these 3 scopes generated the quantification of total GHG. It was obtained that the Calle 40 headquarters presents a carbon dioxide CO₂eq generation of 138650.4 KgCO₂eq for the period 2022 - 2023, which is equivalent to 138.6504 TonCO₂eq, with the energy profile, scope 2 (electricity consumption) being the one that generates the highest percentage with 87.5%, due to the fact that on many occasions there is constant and unnecessary use of lighting and electronic equipment.
