Propuesta de Actualización del Plan de Manejo y Conservación del Oso Andino (Tremarctos Ornatus) en la Jurisdicción de la Corporación Autónoma Regional de Cundinamarca(CAR)

Abstract

The management plan and conservation of Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) in the CAR jurisdiction was established as an instrument of participatory action between the community and the state, where one of its main objectives is to protect and manage the development of habitat conditions basic for the Andean Bear, along with management factors affecting the permanence of the species. The present study has as main objective to formulate a proposal to update the plan through the review of the state of art, methodological strategies and protocols at the national level and conducting field work with local communities, review of areas prioritized by the presence of the species and monitoring by indirect methods for monitoring. As a result, the creation of a document with the reformulation of the lines of action for the conservation of the species in areas prioritized by the presence of bear within the jurisdiction of the CAR was obtained, in addition, it was possible to perform the characterization of facial patterns of twenty individuals in the municipality of Guatavita, Cundinamarca. Once the study is completed, it can be concluded that it was necessary to contextualize the information that was recorded so far, since current records differs from the identified territories and environmental conditions of the species. With this, it was possible to give more precise guidelines for action to be implemented, in which the fundamental role of continuous work with local communities in areas of influence to achieve mitigate conflict between people settled - Bear.
