Resumen
Afro-Colombian culture encompasses very important ancestral knowledge, as well as very diverse uses of plants. However, its history has been framed in invisibility, marginalization, racism and violence. Consequently, they have very often been forced to move from their territory, significantly affecting the population, generating a detriment to their cultural knowledge and practices. Therefore, this qualitative and interpretive systematic review aims to identify the relationships that the Afro-Colombian community has with plants, exploring their relevance in education. This review of academic production from 2005 to 2020 made it possible to identify the main trends in research, categorizing them in the relationships of the Afro-Colombian people and plants, their relevance in education and the Colombian social context. Subsequently, the regions of the country where the investigations were carried out, the main problems reported, the main registered uses and the main plant families reported by the inhabitants were analyzed. It is concluded that there is a recent trend to develop descriptive ethnobotany research, while research on the relationship between the community and plants in the context of the Colombian armed conflict is scarce. However, it is important to reaffirm ethnoeducation and find ways to integrate the different Colombian cultures and, finally, continue developing research on economic models taking into account the precarious socioeconomic situation of the Afro-Colombian population in some regions of the country.
