Resumen
This research was developed within the framework of the Innovation Cycle entitled City and School: scenarios of citizen training and exercise, of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The purpose of the research was to establish how the patterns of urban segregation in a city like Bogotá are related to the school experience of students and affect their training and exercise of citizenship. To this end, a methodological approach based on social experience was used in order to recognize the students' attitudes and perceptions towards school, the city and citizenship, as well as their daily practices in the school environment. The research reflected on how ideas and meanings that reinforce urban segregation and limit encounters and social coexistence are constructed on a daily basis. On the other hand, it made visible how students from three socio-educational contexts interact with social, economic and cultural capitals in a differentiated manner, which may affect their exercise of citizenship and the construction of expectations in adult life. Finally, the research proposed a discussion on the processes of education in school, in terms of the configuration and promotion of attitudes and practices that strengthen school participation, conflict resolution and understanding of difference.
