Resumen
Annually, the Comptroller's Office of Cundinamarca conducts a fiscal control exercise on the investment of resources allocated to environmental management in the municipalities of the department. This exercise addresses ecological issues and ensures the proper management of natural resources. On this occasion, the focus is primarily on the Bogotá River basin, evaluating the activities and actions carried out by territorial entities to meet the obligations derived from the 2014 State Council Ruling, within the context of climate change threats and efforts to ensure sustainable development. However, the presented report highlights the lack of optimal tools for reporting environmental information from the municipalities within the Bogotá River basin, specifically in two areas of analysis: the potable water treatment system and wastewater sanitation. Deficiencies were identified, such as the inability to represent information graphically, which limits a better understanding of the challenges of protecting water resources. As a future environmental manager, this internship aims to complement and assist the development of the "Annual Report on the State of Natural Resources and the Environment of the Department of Cundinamarca," authored by the Comptroller's Office of Cundinamarca, by contributing with knowledge and tools acquired from academic coursework, such as environmental management, geographic information systems (GIS), environmental legislation, and natural resource management, among others. The goal is to communicate and express the information gathered from the management results of the municipalities and the department more clearly and concretely about the environmental issues affecting the deterioration of the Bogotá River. To carry out the internship, relevant databases were identified to gather the most pertinent information. Subsequently, the collected data was processed, focusing on the two previously mentioned areas of analysis. Finally, tools such as graphic maps, tables, and charts, among others, were used to present the information in a clearer and more organized manner
