Resumen
This research aims to analyze the social representations about cultural identity in a group of Venezuelan boys and girls and their parents, based on their migratory experiences in the Colombian context. To this end, a qualitative work was implemented, framed within a biographical approach, taking into account the mobilities and experiences of this population, in addition to the social implications that this process concerns. Accordingly, the techniques and instruments exposed by Bertaux (1980) were applied, such as life stories, interviews and some graphic supports of the boys and girls. The field work was carried out with three Venezuelan families located in Bogotá and in the municipality of Zipaquirá, made up of two children and their parents mainly, during the year 2021. These actors highlighted the perceptions and social representations about cultural identity, built even before traveling to Colombia when making this decision, and that are consolidated and reconstructed through other migratory experiences, and the references provided in social interaction. After the analysis and the results obtained, it can be concluded that migrant children and their families in Colombia represent the emergence of a new population group, which interacts and contributes socially, from its different practices and constructions. These aspects must be taken into account by the different entities and professionals related to childhood and families in Colombia, as recognition of the migrant population and their rights.
