Relaciones entre teoría y discurso : una reflexión desde / sobre la danza folclórica en Bogotá D.C.

Abstract

This research stems from a question that aims to build knowledge around folkloric dance. This questioning focuses on the relationships between theory and discourse, based on the perspectives of three folkloric dance directors from Bogotá. The first part of the document proposes a theorization of folkloric dance, recognizing, reflecting on, and re-conceptualizing notions such as: folklore, folkloric dance, staged folkloric dance, and creation within that dance genre. The second part presents the discursive constructions generated around folkloric dance by three selected directors. These discourses, through theoretical and argumentative confrontation, motivate reflections on the articulations/disarticulations between theory and discourse in the context of this artistic expression in the country's capital. Based on this structure, logically complemented by an introduction and conclusions, this research report reveals paradoxes and tensions experienced in the practice of folkloric dance in Bogotá and also in the country.
