Resumen
The objective of this proposal was to analyze the behavior of the soil with the presence of sand by applying sludge with biodegradable polymers as a stabilizing element to carry out the excavation of pre-excavated screen walls. Nowadays the soils containing these properties are balanced by applying sludge with bentonite, in this case a dosage was made to generate firmness of sandy soils by implementing sludge with biodegradable polymers, several samples were made to find the right amount to use according to the type of soil that was selected, permeability analyzes were performed for natural soil and soil with polymer of 0.1 - 0.3 - 0.5 - 0.7 - 0.9 - 1 grams per liter of water, finding as an appropriate mixture the polymer concentration of 0.8 grams per liter of water for optimal development in excavation work. The use of this method improves the density of the water to be a stabilizing product, the duration is longer compared to when benthic mud is used and it is easier to treat environmentally speaking. As it is well known, the excavations of soil with the presence of sands have characteristics such as low cohesion, are permeable, dense and it is at this point that the use of these sludges is found as a solution, allowing firmness to be maintained in the side walls that are generated in the excavation process and to avoid crumbling. In this way it was found that the properties and benefits of these sludge is to allow excavations to be made more quickly, since it can be prepared in a range of time that varies between 30 to 60 minutes compared to the bentonite it requires to be in immersion 24 hours for its saturation before carrying out the work, in the same way it improves the permeability of the material giving it properties mechanically speaking similar to those of a silty clay since it was one of the characteristics that stands out the most. After analyzing the results obtained in the test of resistance to the cut it was observed that as the dosage of the polymer increases, it makes the cohesion go to zero, since the polymer does not give mechanical properties in the sense of resistance to stress, only It was found that it helps considerably in the permeability reaching a value of zero after filling the existing gaps in the material leaving the water to go out and entering minimally, this improves the excavation process when there are groundwater levels in the areas where They are doing the work.
