Abstract

In the present degree work, to obtain the title of Mechanical Engineer, he devoted himself to the design of the manufacturing process of a polypropylene tray injection mold, for the company EUROPLASTICOS LTDA .; located in the city of Bogotá (Colombia). To this end, the exploded drawings of each of the parts that make up the mold were prepared and, based on this, the manufacturing sheets that provide information about the part were structured, for example, the code in relation to the diagram. assembly order, material and raw material dimensions. Additionally, the cutting parameters for the tools selected in each operation and, when necessary, the control instruments to verify the measurements or alignment of the part. For the development of the manufacturing sheets, a selection of cutting tools and the calculations of the cutting parameters determined by catalog were made. Next, the operation sheets that define the step by step for the manufacture of each part of the mold and, among others, the clamping elements of the part and the cutting tools were organized. At the same time, the schematization of the operations was defined, with the help of 2D and 3D representations. The latter, in order for the operators to observe more clearly the assembly and set-up of the machine that has to be carried out in each of the operations for the manufacture of each one of the pieces. With the development of this grade work, the company Europlásticos Ltda. Approved the implementation of the manufacturing and operation sheets as technical base documents for the organization of the manufacturing process of each of the molds that are manufactured. In addition, he requested training and continuous accompaniment by the worker Kevin Rivera for the operators on the formats of the manufacturing and operation sheet. 6 In line with said request, all the company employees involved in the manufacturing process and structure of the sheets, the diagrams of the manufacturing operations and the set-ups of each of the operations were made known.
