Resumen
This research proposal is developed in the bilingual education framework proposed by the Colombian ministry of education and the recent inclusion of children into the colombian educational system at an early age. Thus, this research starts by showing the first approaches that the national government has implemented in recent years, around bilingualism and its aims to have a bilingual nation by 2025. Then, it shows different ways immersion programs have worked around the world and how they can develop language acquisition in a foreign language and a mother tongue in children between 4 and 6 years, especially highlighting the implementation of a proposal in a dual language immersion program. In this sense, Dual language Immersion models aim to develop communication and cultural skills through the teaching of academic content in two languages, for example, science, math, social studies and language and arts. So this academic content will be taught in the foreign language and in the mother tongue, in that way teachers will not have to use a constant translation of vocabulary during classes. Kids will have the chance of experimenting two learning environment sone in a language they barely know and the other in their own language. the Dual immersion class will work like this: day 1 kids will work in their science, math and language in English and the following day the same subjects will be done in spanish So the student will have the opportunity to learn, share information, knowledge and to understand and communicate in both languages at the same time. any language has a superior role both of them are taught in the same conditions. The current proposal includes four chapters, the first responds to the characterization and formulation of the problem, the second shows the legal , contextual and theoretical framework, the third refers to the research methodological structure and the last give the main ideas of the bilingual educational proposal this educational proposal has as a main content, the curriculum, strengthen skills that will be develop in children, as well as the evaluations rubrics for the dual immersion program.
