Resumen
The aim of this paper is to investigate the social representations of the child's body in a group of inhabitants of the municipality of Guapi in the department of Cauca. This investigative process arises as a purpose to give continuity to the paper "Los niños de Guapi como agentes en la construcción de su desarrollo" developed by the same researcher, in order to show the importance of continuing to develop actions that bring awareness to various ways of experiencing childhood and the ways of accompanying it. To carry out this study, a participatory observation method was used. Through the field diary and interviews, the information was collected and later strategically classified in four categories that were analyzed in light of the theoretical and conceptual referents and the findings obtained. It was found that the social representations of the body of the children have an impact on how the body is accessed. Through the deployment of various cultural practices of upbringing that place them in a specific context with their own needs and in a social community that favors certain ways of relating to the world through the body, i.e., strength, joy, music and dancing.
