Project developed with the research seedbed Barion of the Research Group XÚE, of the technological headquarters of the UDFJC, in the study was determined the Potential of Solar Resource in the Central Region RAP-E for the implementation of photovoltaic systems as an energy solution, the objective was achieved through analysis of geographical information which was digitized and then processed in the software ArcGIS obtaining an approximation by area according to the solar radiation that affects the surface. In order to make the topic better known, a contextualization of this FNCER (Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Source) was carried out at a global level, increasing the scale until reaching the level of the departments that make up the Central Region RAP-E. Variables such as installed capacity, generation, barriers, opportunities, legislation and projects were addressed. In the end, the results were consolidated with map-type graphic outputs and a Geographic Viewer was developed to make this information available to the general public as an input for future research and as support for the evaluation of the implementation of projects with this technology in the Central Region RAP-E on a small and large scale. At the same time, maps for other energy issues were developed by professionals from other areas, which were included in their research and degree projects. A repository of maps generated by other entities and research related to the energy sector was also developed, and organized according to the subject matter. The information from analogous maps and the repository will be uploaded to a web page that is being developed by another area of the XÚE Research Group. There it will be available for downloading and consultation by the general public.
