Análisis de la calidad del agua de la Quebrada Limas, Localidad de Ciudad Bolívar

Abstract

The appropriate implementation of methods for the analysis of the physical and chemical parameters of certain water sample, it’s made when it’s pretended to know its status, as well as the correct selection of the sampling points for the subsequent collection and preservation. The methodology for realizing this kind of practices is developed in this work, specifying the steps taken to obtain the results, which were analyzed to draw conclusions about the quality of the water samples. In order to know the status of “Quebrada Limas” a water quality analysis is realized, covering the physical and chemical parameters that allow to identify its level of contamination by the selection of 4 sampling points located in the middle and low basin in the water body, based on the sampling made by the “Secretaría de Medio Ambiente” in 2014, enabling comparisons to be drawn between the results. In accordance of these results, an analysis of concentrations for certain substances was made by giving them a grade and a classification. The importance of analyzing the water quality, it’s not only concentrated into establish if a source of water is safe for human consumption, but besides, like in the particular case of the water analysis of the “Quebrada Limas”, it allows to know the status of the water bodies located in the city. Initially, the collection of information concerning to the records, location and characteristics of the place where the study was carried out, was the basis for the development of what is raised through this work, where tables and information given by the “Secretaría de Medio Ambiente” were included. From there, the identification of the problem and the elaboration of objectives were made to initiate with the study and the analysis. The framework is made by important information elaborated by the authors, just as the concepts directly related with the parameters and the methods that were used, the maps which provide the geographical location of the water body have been illustrated and referenced properly. The methodology specifies the way the sample points were selected and the method implemented to do this procedure besides the analysis of each one of the parameters, allowing to obtain the results with accurate information for being analyzed. Due to the poor status of this water body, alternatives were suggested to the contribution of its restoration, including the social and environmental aspect. Finally the conclusions were structured and developed.
