Implementar un plan de mejoramiento basado en la metodología de las 5S para el taller de mantenimiento de American Rubber

Abstract

This paper intends to present the development of the internship entitled “Implementing an improvement plan based on the 5S methodology for the American Rubber Maintenance Workshop. ” American Rubber de Colombia SAS founded in 1972, has more than 40 years of experience in the Colombian market and more than 20 years in the international market. It is located at the address Carrera 76 no. 57R- 75 south of Bogotá D. C. American Rubber is a manufacturer of technical products in vulcanized rubber, specialized in the development of rubber compounds, brake parts in the replacement market, faucet packaging, oil filters, gasoline filters, aquedu Sewerage and o’rings. This company is constituted by the mixing area in which there are 4 rubber compacting mills, 2 kneaders and a chiller, in the injection area there are 15 vertical and 3 horizontal injectors and to finish with the production areas there is the mould assembly and maintenance area. The maintenance workshop of American Rubber has been characterized by its empirical operation for a long time, recently it has been working on the implementation of the improvement of the procedures carried out by the area, in order to obtain a continuous improvement of the processes. Therefore, we want to execute the implementation of the 5s to strengthen all the departments and processes of American Rubber and especially the maintenance area, which is one of the most abandoned. and little taken into account in the company, thus changing the ideals that are held in the area and that it positively influences all the improvement activities of the company.
