Resumen
This project involves the use of reading strategies as predicting, skimming, scanning, annotating and summarizing in order to achieve reading comprehension in ninth grade. The goals are to detect the advantages present in the use of reading strategies and to identify the factors that influence the process of reading comprehension. This has been done by teaching and observing classes in which reading strategies were applied through different activities. The setting in which we developed this project is called Benjamin Herrera and the population were ninth graders between thirteen (13) and fifteen (15) years old. The first phase of the project involved planning the lesson plans and searching appropriate material to the development of it. We also used different readings and activities. The final phase involved the application of the project in the school and the analysis of the data collected. This allowed us to write the reports in which we explain in detail our experience and made conclusions.
